Frequently asked questions

Straight answers about free and full assessments, AI and your data, buying, organisation credits, taking an assessment and results.

Free Basic Assessment

What is a Free Basic Assessment?

A short, beginner-friendly assessment of about 8 questions that takes 5–10 minutes. It introduces a skill area and GyaniX itself. It is separate from the full, paid assessments.

Is it really free?

Yes. It never asks for payment or a card and cannot create an order. You sign in so that your report and certificate carry your name. No CV, employer, job title or degree is needed.

What do I get afterwards?

A basic report with your score, feedback by topic where the assessment has topics, every question with its correct answer and explanation, and suggested next steps. The report is never held back.

What is the Certificate of Appreciation?

An optional certificate that thanks you for completing a free basic assessment. It shows your name, the assessment, the date and a reference number. It shows no score and is not a proficiency, achievement or professional certificate.

Assessments

What is a GyaniX assessment?

A full assessment is a timed assessment of one skill area. Standard papers have 50 questions and most take 75 minutes; each assessment page shows its exact number of questions and time. Questions are multiple choice, true/false or numeric and are scored automatically, so your report is ready when you submit.

Who writes and checks the questions?

Questions are drafted with AI and each one is checked in a separate evidence-based AI review (calculations recomputed, code run, sources opened). Published papers are labelled “AI-generated and AI-reviewed — not independently expert-validated”.

Are the questions validated by experts?

Not yet. Every published paper is “AI-generated and AI-reviewed — not independently expert-validated”. Each question is checked in a separate AI review with evidence before use.

What does an assessment measure?

Knowledge of a skill and how to apply it, through questions with clear answers. It cannot watch you work, so it is not proof of hands-on competence or a licence to practise.

Is a GyaniX certificate a qualification or licence?

No. It records your result on a GyaniX assessment. It is not a government accreditation, an academic qualification or a professional licence.

Which languages are available?

Questions are in English only today. The website and workspace can be shown in other interface languages, but no paper is offered in another language yet.

AI and your data

What does the AI actually do?

Today AI drafts and reviews the questions before an assessment is published. Recommendations from your CV, skill-gap insights and the development plan in your report use GyaniX's own rules, so each one can be explained. AI-generated personalised assessments are built but not yet available.

Do I need to upload a CV?

No. You can search, start from your interests or browse the catalogue. If you upload a CV, it is read with your permission, personal details are skipped, and you review what was read before anything is saved.

Does an outside AI read my CV?

Only if you tick a separate box, and that option is switched off today. By default GyaniX reads the CV with its own rules on its own server.

Can an organisation see my results?

An organisation sees the results of an assessment it invited you to. Assessments you take on your own are not visible to any organisation unless you choose to share them.

Buying

Where is GyaniX available?

GyaniX is sold in India only, with prices in Indian rupees (INR). It is not yet sold in other countries or currencies.

How much does an assessment cost?

Each paper shows its full price in INR before you pay: the base price and GST, and the total. The price of a paper does not change at checkout.

Do referral codes give a discount?

Yes. A valid referral code gives 10% off the assessment base price, before GST, on individual assessments. One code per order; it does not apply to credit packages.

How do I pay?

Online payment opens soon. Until it opens, papers show “Not on sale yet” and you can request one for free; nothing is charged.

How long do I have to start?

You start within 30 days of purchase. Each purchase is one attempt.

Organisation credits

How long are organisation credits valid?

Credits are valid for 12 months from activation (the date payment is confirmed). Each purchase is a separate batch with its own expiry date, shown in your credit wallet. Credits transferred to you by a partner keep their original expiry date. Earliest-expiring credits are used first. Expired credits cannot be used or refunded.

What happens to credits held for an assessment when they expire?

Credits already held for an assessment you assigned before they expired stay usable for that assessment, so the person can still start it. If that assessment is cancelled or expires unstarted after the credits' expiry date, those credits expire at once.

Will I be reminded before credits expire?

Yes. Your organisation's administrators are notified 30 days and 7 days before a batch with unused credits expires, and again when credits have expired.

Can I get a refund for unused credits?

A paid pack can be refunded in full only while all of its credits are unused, not held for assigned assessments and not expired. A refund never extends the validity of your other credits.

Taking the assessment

What do I need?

A stable connection. For a proctored assessment you also need a laptop or desktop computer with a camera, a full-screen browser and a quiet room, and you are asked for consent before monitoring starts. Unproctored assessments, including every Free Basic Assessment, also work on a phone.

How is the assessment monitored?

With your consent, the browser checks for leaving the assessment tab, leaving full screen and pasting, and the camera checks that one face is present. Observations are shown to you as they happen. Many observations mark the attempt for a person to review; the software never ends an attempt or decides about integrity on its own. Your report and certificate state the monitoring actually used.

What if my connection drops?

The timer runs on our server and answers save automatically; you can resume the same attempt.

Results

What is in the report?

An executive summary, your score by skill, topic and difficulty, strengths and development areas with evidence, assessment behaviour, a practical development plan, and method and limitations — on the web and as a PDF.

Which certificate will I get?

A paid assessment gives a Certificate of Completion. A Certificate of Achievement is given only when the assessment has a passing standard, set by GyaniX before you start, and your attempt meets it. A Free Basic Assessment gives a Certificate of Appreciation, which thanks you for taking part and is not a proficiency certificate. Each has a unique number for verification; paid certificates also have a QR code.

Can someone check my certificate?

Yes. The QR code or number opens a public page that shows your name and GyaniX ID, the kind of certificate, the assessment, the date and whether it is valid, revoked or corrected (and the outcome of a Certificate of Achievement). Your e-mail, phone number, scores and answers are never shown.

Can I retake an assessment?

Yes, with a new purchase. Before you pay, the assessment page shows how many questions would repeat from your earlier attempt. If more than half would, it is not sold as a fresh reassessment: you are offered a clearly labelled practice attempt or another assessment instead, and nothing is charged until you choose. Each completed fresh attempt has its own certificate; the earlier one stays valid as the record of that attempt.

What is a practice attempt?

The same paper taken for practice. It is clearly labelled, gives no certificate, adds no skill evidence to your Skills Passport and is never used in comparisons. Practice is priced like the paper, or free if an earlier attempt of the same paper was paid for, by you, your organisation or a sponsor (currently up to one free practice attempt every 7 days and three every 90 days).

What is my GyaniX ID and Skills Passport?

Your GyaniX ID is your permanent identity on GyaniX; it appears on your reports and certificates. Your Skills Passport keeps your assessments, skill results, certificates and progress in one private place. Nothing on it is public until you create a share link, and you can withdraw a link at any time.

Companies and partners

How do companies pay?

With prepaid credits. Credits activate after the payment is confirmed; the package, validity and refund terms are shown before purchase.

Can we use GyaniX library assessments for hiring?

Not today. Library assessments are AI-generated and AI-reviewed and have not been independently validated, so GyaniX lets organisations assign them for development or learning only, and a hiring campaign cannot include them. For hiring, use an assessment validated for that purpose, such as one built from your own organisation's reviewed questions.

When is a credit used?

One credit pays for one person's attempt. Inviting someone reserves one credit of the assessment's type (library, own-content or AI-generated); it is used when the person starts and released if the assessment is never started.

How long are credits valid?

12 months from activation. Credits transferred between accounts keep their original expiry, and the earliest-expiring credits are used first.

What can partners do?

Partners buy prepaid credits, create customer accounts, allocate credits they hold (allocation never creates new credits) and track usage. Partner discounts and resale terms are agreed with GyaniX, and only GyaniX can make an organisation a partner account.

Who can see the results of an assessment my organisation assigns?

Colleagues whose role includes viewing results, and team managers for people in their teams. The candidate sees their own report unless you hold it back. Other organisations cannot. A partner that serves you sees credits and invitation status, and candidate names and headline scores only if your administrator allows it. GyaniX's platform administrators can access results to run, support and secure the service.
