Domestic Electrical Installation Assessment
House wiring, protection and safe testing · Learning and self-assessment, AI-reviewed
What this assesses
For domestic electricians and trainees, including those who learned on the job, who wire homes, size cables and breakers, and test installations using the tables and procedures given in each question. It covers 10 topics: cable size selection (given table); conduit and material estimation; earthing concepts and earth tests; energy consumption and bill; fault finding (symptom table); load calculation for a house; MCB and RCCB selection; safety and isolation (stated SOP); testing sequence (stated SOP); and wiring systems and accessories. The questions were drafted with AI and each one was checked in a separate evidence-based review; the paper is not independently expert-validated, so use it for learning and self-assessment.
Knowledge assessment. Objective questions with fixed answers, scored automatically. It shows what you know about the subject; it does not show that you can do the work hands-on.
AI-generated and AI-reviewed — not independently expert-validated. For learning and self-assessment only. Not a hiring, academic or professional qualification.

Before you buy
- Prerequisites
- No qualification or work experience is needed. It is written for beginners who have studied or practised the topics listed, whether at school, on a course, at home or on the job.
- What you receive
- A report as soon as you submit, on the web and as a PDF: your overall result, a result for each skill with the number of questions behind it, strengths, development areas and a short development plan.
- Certificate
- A Certificate of Completion when you finish. A Certificate of Achievement only if GyaniX has set a passing standard for this assessment before you start and your attempt meets it; the page before you start says whether there is one. Practice attempts receive no certificate.
- Retakes and practice
- A retake is a new purchase and a new attempt. If most of the questions would repeat from your earlier attempt, this page tells you before you pay and offers a clearly labelled practice attempt instead.
- Limitations
- It is a knowledge assessment: it checks what you know through questions with clear answers. It cannot watch you work, so it is not proof of hands-on competence, and it is not a licence, an academic qualification or an accreditation.
Languages and content status
Available to take in: English. You choose the language before you start, and it stays the same for the whole attempt. If your language is not listed, the assessment is not offered in it yet; nothing is switched after you pay.
Questions were drafted with AI and checked one by one with evidence (code run, answers recomputed, sources opened). They have not been validated by an independent expert.
